Rushaga Gorilla Lodge is a haven for trekking the world’s famous silverback gorillas within the Bwindi Impenetrable forest. It is part of the MBZ Group Africa Tours and travel hotels and lodging company facilities.
The lodge is located only 10 minutes away from the Rushaga UWA gate. It is a highlight for travelers and adventurers alike.
A visit to our lodge implies closer access to the seven Rushaga mountain gorilla groups such as Mishaya, Kahungye, Nshongi, Bweza, Kutu, Rwigi, and Busingye.
We have named our accommodation rooms after the gorilla groups so that you can in some way feel a connection to the beautiful creatures.
The Nkuringo and Nyakagezi gates are not far from us and you can also track their gorilla groups while at our location. You will get an opportunity to experience the breathtaking views of the Kigezi highlands, take awesome forest walks, and engage with the Batwa community. There are local craft shops in the community with beautiful accessories and hand-woven items that you too can get to watch and purchase from the community people.
The Batwa community often shares their cultural experiences thus giving you a chance to relate to their rich history tracing back hundreds of years of how they lived.
You will get to watch them dance energetically, sing songs, and do other cultural activities around the bonfire.
The nearby attractions and activities in this area of Uganda include Lake Bunyonyi famous for bird watching tours and the canoeing experience, Lake Mutanda; commonly known for its islands with the African rock pythons and Mgahinga National park which is popular for Golden monkey trekking.
Besides gorilla trekking, guests can take part in gorilla habituation, go hiking, mountain biking, bird watching, and so much more during their stay at the lodge.
